STARS is a
research project which is looking for ways to use remote sensing
technology to improve agricultural practices in Sub-Saharan Africa
and South Asia. Supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation,
the project hopes to significantly advance the livelihoods of
smallholder farmers in some of the world’s poorest
countries.
High-income countries have seen recent improvements
in their agricultural management systems through modern remote
sensing technology, such as satellites, aircraft and the information
they collect. Out of the vast amount of data collected, advice can be
provided to farmers on the ground to help inform their decisions
about farming methods

STARS is the EU funded Coordination and Support Action on Strengthening Training of Academia in Regulatory Science (CSA STARS).
Lack of specific relevant know-how in regulatory science delays the development of new treatment strategies or limits the chances that promising innovations will reach patients. STARS aims to improve the direct regulatory impact of results obtained in medical research. 18 European countries are represented in the consortium through their national competent authorities, alongside academic and industry representatives, and associations with relevant experience.

Project C-STARS
Children’s Successful Transition and Adaptation Research Study
Project C-STARS involves Chinese and Korean immigrant families with young children ages 3-5 years residing in Maryland. The (1) community and social resources available to these families, (2) parents’ adaptation, well-being and acculturation, and (3) their culturally-specific parenting beliefs, practices, styles and behaviors are examined, in relation to (4) their preschool children’s social emotional development, physical health, academic competence and transition into American society.

The tour kicked off in Humboldt with a custom-built 1968 Ford Mustang 427Coupe pulling into the parking lot of Discovery Ford.

Lucky Star project
This page presents the ERC project Lucky Star whose aim is to study the solar system beyond Neptune with stellar occultations. The project is led by Bruno Sicardy in collaboration with groups from Paris, Meudon, Granada and Rio.
The aim of the project is to study the Trans-Neptunian Objects (TNOs) using the stellar occultation technique. It consists in observing the passage of remote TNOs in front of those "Lucky Stars", that reveal shapes, atmosphere and rings of bodies from sub-km to thousand-km in size.
